My stock '81 Luv has been running perfect but today when I left work for lunch and let off the gas the RPM's kept climbing...AND CLIMBING. I checked all the obvious and found nothing, gas pedal returns like normal (sping is hooked up), no back firing, no black smoke, starts just fine, runs perfect except high ass RPM's. It ran over 45 MPH on the way home without touching the gas pedal. I'll be looking at it in the morning and will post back here what I come up with. Meahwhile if anyone has seen this before...HIT ME BACK. Stock 1.8 and Hitachi carb. I do have a spare Carb so I won't let this kick my butt to long.

What was the fix? Maybe something holding the secondary open? Just think, if it was a Toyota you could have sued!

That was it. That's kind of what I thought it was going to be going into it. I'm still bouncing around the idea of a webber carb but parting with $250 plus for one just doesn't quite seem warranted right now for it.
