I've noticed the past few days that when warming up my truck, the engine idle steadily increases to almost 3200-+100 RPM.

im wondering if some solenoid is malfunctioning or if this is normal? it wasnt doing this before. only revved up to about 2200.

any ideas?

Change to a lighter grade of oil? Weather warmer or colder than usual? A couple things I could think of. I'm assuming an automatic choke.
If tapping the throttle drops it back down I would not worry about it.

Make sure the choke linkage parts are in tact and working right. Mine acted up once and it was the cup thing that you turn to adjust the choke.... the three screws had come loose and the cup was just laying there next to the carb. 8O :esurprised
