Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

lol, yes we live in the city. Horses are boarded at nearby stables. We have a large back yard. Many of the other animals are outside for spring and summer. It does get a bit cramped in the house during winter. Some of the tortoises and lizards hibernate during winter, so they get put into hibernation box's either in the garage or back patio.

We've worked out ways to decrease the workload, so we're aren't feeding and scoopin poop everyday, all day.

lol, and I thought the 14-15 dogs that broddyman23 has was a lot. Then you came along... :) What's the total number there?

I just have one big fat black cat, and one large black German Shepherd. Neither of which sleep on top of my truck... but, the neighbor's cat likes to sleep on the hood when it gets cold out.

We have a newly retired Greyhound for just tonight. He is a hand full. He wants to chase our little dog and cats.

LOL! Funny how the tiny ones are the most bossy. We've got a blind mini dachshund that thinks she's the boss of everything in or around the house.

I went with a greyhound adoption guy Sunday, to Mexico to pick up a Greyhound with a broken leg. Nice track over there, but the rest of what I saw makes me glad to live in the USA.

Today was a very sad day for our family. Our German Shepherd/Lab mix, Heidi, who has been with us for 14 years had to be put to sleep. She had a doggy stroke Monday morning. The vet sad she was suffering and it would be best to put her to sleep. My daughter, who named her and myself were with her at the end. She lived a long and happy life and for that we are thankful. She was a very special part of our family for so long and she will be greatly missed.

So sorry for your loss. They do become part of the family, and that makes it hard.

Have a Toy Poodle named Tony, a Beta named Flem, snapping turtle named Touche', and used to have a duck named Aflac. Aflac wanted to find out why the chicken crossed the highway, and was too slow to get the answer!

The wifey has a Chihuahua/Beagle named Ralph, and Ralph has a Chihuahua named Andy. She got Andy for Ralph because he was depressed, lonely, laid around all day getting too fat, and mainly...just so they all 3 can try their best to drive me completely full-on crazy faster.

They all 3 are why my garage/shop has a dead bolt on the door and I spend a big chunk of my goof-off time up above my garage in my man-cave. After years of taking care of the wifey, the kids, and our pets while trying to work out of my home to make a living...it's kinda nice to finally be an empty-nester and to have my own space.

Don't get me wrong - I love her and the dogs to death - but I'm just sayin'.... :)

We are fostering and will probably end up adopting this 5 yo retired racing Greyhound. He was a grade A racer with 155 races, 14 wins and 16 2nd places. According to the graph I saw, that is good. Now he is the calmest, laziest dog I have ever met. :D :D Anyway, we named him Bristol after my favorite Nascar "race" track. But I just call him Buddy.

A buddy of mine adopted a greyhound too and it's the nicest dog I've ever met.

I heard a Grayhound can not sit. I knew of a guy that did grayhounds fosters. It is a shame why this needs to be done more than other dogs.
