from what i have heard alot of people use the old style ram horn manifolds.
if you are working with a budget then you could probably find a decent set of these at a junkyard

You need to do some serious measuring. The shorty headers can come out right above the cross member. You might need to do a engine test install first... Camaro style exhaust members might be better, they face toward the rear of the engine. That is one reason Hooker made the engine mounts too. It would work together. Factory exhaust manifolds should be cheep at your local salvage yards.

www.powerbyace.com has under chassis headers available, however they are a little pricey also, approx $ 370.00, they do include the exhaust reducers though.

Hooker has quit making those. They sold the last 5 sets to Summit I think, maybe Jegs. Used ones can be found sometimes. The kit info is off the main site.

My shorties came out over the crossmember also I used to have but they did get the exhaust pipe bent and bolted right up. still have the brand new pipe that is bent to fit mine. if you use shorties and the pattern is the same you can have the pipe just for the shipping.

I'm not sure what they are but I still have them here and they are ceramic coated if you might be interested in them. Just PM me if you might be. I also have a set of almost new flowmaster mufllers.

I went to the hooker long tubes and 3 inch exhaust.

The headers from ACE are designed for use with the stock front suspension. The front header tube comes apart so the they can be installed without removing the torsion bars. They do not interfer with the stock oil filters or E brake cable either. These are 3/8" flanges at the head and collector, 1 5/8" tubes with three inch collectors. Better for the street than the 1 3/4" tubes.

I still have my ceramic ones. I got them back from my son when he sold his truck. PM me and I will send you my pics. I still have the bent pipes that hook to them. Clearance is a little tight but don't rub anywere. I had them on mine when I still had the torsion bars on.

I am in JC. I was just in KC this weekend and will be going back soon I think.
