My neighbor sell me his 73' datsun. Its pretty solid, just needs some work on the bed and a couple of rust spots here and there. What I dont like is that its automatic , but I guess I can let my sister borrow it some times... :econfused
The price is a little steep, I think, he wants 1,000, but Im pretty sure I could talk him down a little.. what you guys think?

I used to have a yellow '73...
I have always liked the Datsun trucks.

If it runs and drives and is inspected... and looks that good, then $1000 is not a bad price.

I had a '70 Datsun 1600 back in the early '80's. I beat the literal hell out of that truch and it kept going and asking for more. One thing I did learn is working on them is expensive. Maybe it's because it's an import but everything cost about three times as much for it as it did for a domestic vehicle.

Hands down, the slowest, most underpowered stock vehicle I have owned was a '74...

From that pic, it looks like it is worth more than a grand to me. I see less Datsuns running around then LUVs.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Yeah I'd say a grand is not bad. As we've seen with LUVs, finding a decent body can be the most difficult and expensive part and is almost more important to try and buy outright if you can than running gear. Seems like engines and such are much more easily acquired and changed vs. body and interior.

Yeah, the pic makes it look a little better than what it actually is. I should have taken more pics, some of the interior also.. I'll try take some more when I see it again and I'll post them.. If I do get it, it probably wont be till next month..

If you don't get it, let me know, I might pick it up to do a V6 Chevy 700R4 conversion on. Got a stepside bed for one also. Done V8's and have V8 parts.
