While replacing the engine, pulled the oil pick up tube and saw this....

Thought it looked like a loose bolt in the oil pump. Stuck a magnetic pickup tool in it, and sure enough....

What kind of strange or unusual things have you found while working on your Luv?

I'm sure it didn't help anything. The previous owner said the engine had been rebuilt about 10 years ago. Had some work done by the same machine shop, on a different engine. Was not impressed with that work either. This engine was still running, just getting weak and using a LOT of oil.

When working on my '80 project truck I found a metric socket down behind the radiator all covered with oil and gunk. I almost didn't see it. I think it had Japanese markings on it, so it made me wonder if it had fallen down in there at the factory and was never noticed? Who knows. I also found a dead mouse stuck half way out of one of my vent ducts, but that is probably a common occurance!

My yellow I LUV I bought, came with a barber chair in the bed! :? And about 10 pounds of crap behind the seat. Ended up with about $8.00 in change.

No pics of it as I put it in a dumpster around the corner from where I bought it on the way home.
