Thought I'd be on the road this weekend but looks like it will be next . . . But I'm almost there. Got most of the interior done this weekend. Here's some pics

Glove box already had the Mikado on it and I added the "80".

I agree, I had something similar started, but I like the look of that much better than what I was trying to do.

Mine are in that same location but are held in with zip ties and sheet metal screws. Looks almost as good as yours. :roll: :P

I orginally had them in speaker boxes behind my seats (s10) and always had to have the seat forward and couldn't move the back. When I gutted the truck to paint I decided to put 'em in the side. It was pretty simple, thin sheet of wood, cut out to kinda match that gappin' hole on the side and put the carpet on it to match the floor. Couple of sheet metal screws holds 'em place.

Oh yeah, I'm on vacation today. My son is off today too and he is coming over and wiring up my cadillac lights and then, LIFT OFF, we're cranking up the beast. I put her in the shop almost 4 months ago and now she's finally ready to make her orange/organge metal flake flame debut. :D

File comment: 85 Cadillac coup deville lights. My son is a born fabricator. I was crying that I messed up the truck and would have to buy a new bed and he spent one day with 'em and they look like they came from factory - whatta GREAT son!!!

I worked harder on my vacation day than on my regular job but it was worth it. Tail lights got wired in no time (thank goodness my son has the brains and know how in the family :lol: ) and then we fired her up. Gonna make my seat covers Saturday and hopefully be able to finally drive around this weekend.

I was ticked though - after we wired the lights we went to lunch and "93" gas was $2.74 a gallon and I was complaining because a week ago it was $2.60. An hour and a half later on the way back (because I WANTED to get gas after lunch for the Luv) "93" was $2.84 - what gives with gas - ten cent increase and all I did was go to lunch first :x Hopefully when I actually drive the Luv this weekend it will be back down.

i have a couple of questions....how thick is the wood for your 6x9'? how do they sound mounted like that? how did you mount the carpet on the headliner? i would like to do some thing similar in my 73. thanks
