Ctmandu helped me mount these seats in there last week. (by helped i mean pretty much did all)
Image
We pulled back the carpet and found some rust under there, So I'm going to have to do a bit of sanding this summer perhaps a new carpet kit.
Image
You can kind of see some of the fiberglass stuff Ctmandu has been working on. Hopefully some day I will talk him into making a dash mold.

Goodbye bench!
Image
Its kind of a squeeze to fit my big ass between the seats and the gigantic wheel in my luv
Image
No big plans with this one, just going to make it sharp looking and fun to drive.

Thanks for helping me Ctmandu!

Is the pattern on the door panels and bench seat original? I've never seen that one before and for stock (if it was) I like it.

Not sure where the old seat/door panels came from.

I stuck a weber 32/36 in it recently, spent some time dialing it in (aka fin it up). Come to find out I had a vacuum leak from the top plate of the POS redline adapters. I had the posts screwed down to low so it cause a gap. I did noticed that when I put it on, but assumed the posts would slip down into the holes on the plate below it. So I went over to ctmandu's shop and found out I was WRONG!!! Ctmandu has this gasket maker called The Right Stuff. He slapped some of that between those plates did a few adjustment to the carb, timing, told me what jets I need and I was good to go!

Ive come to the conclusion that I need to spend less time bitchin, stressin and thinkin about things and more time gettin my hands dirty.

The plan is to cut out the floor of it and do wood. The problem is that I'm going to have to extend the braces and attach them to the edge of the bed for extra support. I was thinking about robing the braces off my old bed, but the old one is in really good shape and I would hate to ruin it for parts.

The panel that buts against the cab is rusted so I need to cut that off and weld a new one onto it. Plus there is a ton of deep rust on the tail gate and the two sides I'm keeping. Being new to body work I'm trying to figure out the best way to repair the rust. I really don't want to have to repaint it in a few years because I took shortcuts.

The Right Stuff is a great sealant, the best I have found. It is pricey but well worth it.

Ive been doing a bit of grinding and sanding to the bed in my garage and it occurred to me that I'm probably blasting lead paint all over the place. Being a house painter for the last nine years I would say screw it and keep on going, but we have a new born and I would like to stay on the safe side. So I'm going to pick up a gallon of paint stripper and a lead tester. Hopefully it isn't lead, I don't want to spend a afternoon vacuuming out my garage.

Hmmm I could just buy a s-ton of rattle cans and save a bunch of cash :P

I did the lead test and it came back negative. :D

I picked up some paint stripper and it is the way to go! Screw all that sanding crap.

Some day I'm going to finish this truck and I wont have a excuse to stop by ctmandu's shop and drink beer

Ive decided to bag the wood idea. I'm going to buy a piece of sheet metal and have it bent and cut to replace the floor. I'm pretty much at a stand still until I have the cash for it. The good news is that I....we......ok ctmandu finally dialed my carb and timing.

Thanks for all your help ctmandu hope I'm not to much of a pest!

Here is a tip if you get the crappy redline adapter plates.

Sand the plates even
Apply a liberal coat of right stuff in between the gasket and plates.
Plug up your intake so crap doesn't get down there. After the gasket maker has cured take a dremel with wire brush attachment and remove all the excess gasket maker. Vac out your intake (at your own risk) and install the carb.
Don't over tighten the bolts!

weber
------------Gasket
top plate
------------Permatex the Right Stuff Gasket Maker
------------Gasket
------------Permatex the Right Stuff Gasket Maker
bottom plate
------------Permatex the Right Stuff Gasket Maker

intake

I could of made a adapter plate out of chicken wire that would of had less vacuum leaks and saved my self 50$
