what weight springs are most people running? it has 300 pound springs on it, and with an inch between the LCA and frame, i can stand on the front and make it bottom out.. i weigh 215 pounds.. seems really soft and bouncy..

I'm running 230 lb springs...

Mine works for me well into the 8's, but I don't street drive it. I think the 300 lb springs will be too stiff, it will tend to bounce. I would try them first, then go from there. I had a street s10 once that worked well with 280 lb springs, and it was most likely a little heavier on the front than your LUV...

hmm. i guess ill have to wait till i can actually drive it.. it doesnt help i have about one inch of travel between the LCA and frame at the moment. i need to do some cutting there once i get the frame stripped all down.

heres a quick video.. 300 pound springs all around as of now.. def. will need a lighter spring out back lol.. i weight about 215 pounds, not putting much effort into bouncing on it...

Looks like you are going to need to extend the top shock mount so you can have a bit more travel. Rear springs should be around 150 or so, depending on how much stuff you have in the back...

when i first made my transmission cross member, i wasn't planning on the truck sitting quite as low as it is, and i wanted the exhaust cutouts to line right up with the collector. with it like that, the cutout was about an inch or a little less lower than the frame, which would have sucked. i decided i needed the center to be removable so i wouldn't have to unbolt the cab and raise it up some when i needed to pull the motor.. so i flipped the cross member over so nothing hangs below frame, and made the center removable.

i also started welding up holes in the firewall that are no longer needed. my buddy has a dodge van with the bracket to turn the booster 90 degrees, so i am gonna rob that off his van and plan on mounting the brake setup under the dash.

I think that all the work you have done looks great...but I definately think that the bed needs to be bobbed. It looks like a long bed for some reason...and very out of proportion. Your work is extremely good though...and I love your Blazer on S10 Forum too.

thanks man, i appreciate it! this is my first time doing this much work on my own. im learning alot. lots of things id like to change, but dads kind of wanting it done so ill live with the chassis for now. once i get my own place, i will build a full frame for it. and as for the bed, i agree with TILTED, its the striped.. heres my old luv truck.. same short bed..

Alright...I agree that the stripe is making it look longer than it really is. But I still think it would look pretty cool if the bed were bobbed just behind the rear leaf perches. Maybe I will do something like that if I get a 2wd to mess around with. I am probably going to flat bed my 4x4...so bobbing it would be pointless. I haven't messed with cars too much...other than basic stuff. So, the LUV will be something that I hope to learn alot from.

not much going on.. got cab and bed back on for a while hopefully lol.

sat bench seat and column in.. going to try and get some square tubing tomorrow if possible, and attempt to make a dash.

instead of dropping the front of the frame down 2" to match the Z, i decided to section it out of the front core support thing.
