So the other day while surfing the web I found a florian.. as im sure alot of you know they are VERY similar to a LUV in the front area... so on another note I had an idea a few months back about making my LUV into a car... now im sure alot of you are thinking NO WAY... Wont work ect ect ect... I would like to get some info people might have in this area...

The general idea is to keep the front end basically untouched, but to shorten the frame and the bed down to make a rear cabin area for seats and essentially the back of the car... I got an idea for the rear appearance, it took me alot of guess and check sketches to get as far as appearance plus i got a drawing that i made about a year ago of a car that i would like to use for a general template for the body design.....

the real questions are things such as, how could I safely attach a rear section to the cab as a kind of cab extention? <--- I have fiberglass skills but not any real welding skills... What kind of issues might I encounter if I attached the bed to the cab? I have done body work before even replaced panels and patched big holes in cars, but as far as accually BUILDING a car, i have yet to do...

BTW anyone thats gonna say this is dumb, dont do it, your gonna ruin your truck, why waist your time ect... ect... ect... Dont waist your time I AM going to do this so please posative input if you could...

Thanks
Dustin

that was kinda my thought too... btw here is the pic i drew, i know its a drawing and isnt what i had in mind when i thought of the truck to car conversion, but as for the back end of the car this pic is that i would like to emulate the rear from, its simple and dosent look like it would be too difficult to copy to use as the rear end of the car...

Oh what a deal this could be . Lets see--take the Florian wagon cut the back off behind the rear door extend the frame or put on a extended LUV frame and weld the back of a LUV cab on add a box with the dually kit and presto a crew cab dually that nobody else has.Toss in a 2.6 5spd. and it would look factory.Umm how do i get one of those wagons 8)

is there anything that you guys can think of as far as body flexing and what not, that might cause damage after this thing is in one peice? Also what does anyone know about slightly lowering the front end without hurting camber? I'm kinda on a budget as far as that goes, since most my money will be going into the rear section rebuild...

You could graft the back half of a Vega coup or wagon to the cab but it would be work

in the begginning stages of developement I had that thought about just taking the rear of another car, but upon further thinking i decided that i would keep the sheet metal from the rear of the cab, along with the window and use the cab window for the rear window of the car... and to cut down on cost to try and use as much of the body panels from the bed as i can...

also, would there be problems if i built a roll bar on the inside rear of the rab, and and extended it back along the same lines that the rear of the car will be to support the added body?

heres a little sketch...

Import one. It is old enough I would think. All you want is the body right?

I thought of the 2 bas thing and there are a few road blocks, fist of all the body lines would look weird and not flow right, Ide have to remove the dash area and fuse the cabs together and get it to where they were strong, "trunk" area would need ALOT of work to be right, the wheel well dont line up right(ive checked trust me)and would be alot of work to get right, and I really want a coupe, and at the same time I want some one somewhere to say, you know that car really reesembles a luv...

Also how hard would an import be??? i would think that by now they are all but gone...
