I have a friend that has a '75 El Camino that has a 350. He is thinking about putting in a newer 350 with fuel injection. For you guys that have done this with your Luvs, how did you do it? Did you buy a complete donor car and swap everything over? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check with Painless Wiring as they have harness's for those type of swaps.

I have a complete TPI i bought on e-bay and converting to any chev motor is fairly straight forward but the Painless Wiring setup will make it easier to install especially if wiring is not you forte

Hope your FI installation is going well. I have researched doing the same thing on my sbc powered Luvs (2). I have found Painless to be very expensive when there are many other suppliers who will provide everything needed including the ECU for much more reasonable prices.
Do some researching on the net by logging unto "fuel injection harnesses" Then all you have to do is decide who is the most reasonable for the product.
Wishing you well,

You can use a megasquirt EFI system. It is a dyi EFI system. I have used one on my aircooled VW. It is a batch system not a sequential EFI like a TPI system. IT is a system more like a throttle body EFI

You can now buy a already built ECM now from several vendors. I built mine from scratch. It is a early version but I do have a 2 bar sensor that is turbo compatible.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
