So I haven't gotten my luv out on the road yet be cause gotta save to register it but I'm a younger guy who likes to go above the speed limit ive never had a 4 banger but I'm wondering what's a good operating speed for a stock luv I don't think I can do my usual 80 down the highway. I don't. Want to blow up my new engine thanks all.
This probably falls in the dumb question catagory

Well a 77 will, I think, has 4-11s in the back. So it will go 60 all day long. 65 -70 not all day. imo

I have a 78 and I hold it at 60mph. It runs great there. Although it only has 205 70 14 tires on it, so that doesn't help any. I haven't driven it in a while (my kid has it) and I can't remember what rpm it runs at 60. I think about 3grand.

Last year when we went to portland via 5 there were quite a few smokies. Sure they would love my cal plates. One time they had one standing in the middle of the road with a radar gun. Thought I was dead, just happen to be toy truck running faster behind me. I knew them toy trucks were good for something. Also I saw sign saying they had radar with cameras. Worried about it for a couple of weeks after getting back from Idaho.

The fastest I've gotten my stock 77 up to was 85, driving from Idaho to Spokane. I drove from here in Seattle to Spokane about 2 weeks ago and went 75 the whole way, no problems whatsoever. My truck has 275,000 miles, and it has slightly larger than stock tires, which helps.

in stock form save for the motorcycle muffler, I had my speedo pegged at the last mark from 85, and was able to work the tach an extra 400 rpm's before the truck ran out of steam... with the weber, electronic ignition, bigger exhaust and the 76 gagues (read up 110 with one extra line after it) i was hoping to be able too match that number... the truck also has 215/60r15 tires on it...
