Disk brakes do not lock up as quickly as drums, due to the fact that drum brakes are referred to as self actuating.

These are PN's for a Chrysler minivan master that is an aluminum body. The Strange and Willwood styles are copies of this. Most racers I know end up switching to these from the big names as they get more pedal pressure...

I am running the Napa one...

Aerospace also has the same Chrysler master cylinder. It is proportioned front/back so you don't need a proportioning valve. That is what I have on my drag truck.

I have question for you guys that are running the master cylinder napa number 39178 how is the brake peddle pressure feel.
I am running the aerospace front disk brakes and ford explorer disk on the rear with a 1 1/8" corvette master cylinder it stops OK but the peddle is really stiff.
I would like to make the peddle softer with out going to a booster.

I'm in the middle of installing a v8 in my 80 luv and I have a toyota straight axle under my front and just bought new caliphers for the toyota stuff and was wanting to change out the stock MC and do away with the booster because my engine want have much vacuum ( I'm building a mudd racer and will not have rear brakes) so will the NAPA 39178 work for just the front brakes? Or should I just run the stock mc and don't hook up the booster.

What I did for weight in the bed was went and got a 16 gal fuel cell and mounted it between the fender wells to the back added just enough weight when full plus added a rear bumper that i can inject water into it hold ruff of 18 gals and i mixed it with antifreeze so it wouldn't rust so I hook up nice with the v8 running 400hp
