Sorry about the delay in updates, school and work have been a pain this spring semester. The truck is coming home, hopefully this week, not under its own power but the engine turns over but I do not have a gas tank connected yet (it was poked with a screwdriver when the junkyard picked it up). And it does not have a drive shaft yet, but hopefully I will be cruzing by summertime. Also it is coming home because some how I talked my wife into letting me build a 26 X 26 shop at the house so I don’t have to leave home to play with the toys.
Also I found a Chevy LUV in my neighbors yard (right across the street), well half of it, He and his dad chopped a LUV in half right behind the front cab mounts in 1985. Everything is there except the gas tank. It rolls real easy in the grass and there is not any grinding noise from the rear axle. Does anyone think the axle is still good? It would be nice to have a spare rear axle.
The bed is in much better shape than mine is so I will do the body work on that one before I transfer it over. Including Cadillac taillights per inspiration of Bagged79 (that is the closest I can come to that level of build) :ebiggrin. As you can see from the pictures below my bed has a lot of "ventilation" issue, both sides have that big a hole in them:
