Does anyone know if a 1991 Geo Prism motor would work in my little LUV, 4x4?

What I mean to ask is, will that motor in the little geo prism be a direct drop in/bolt on to stock 4spd or will I need the motor mounts and a different transmission?

Thank you all so much for your help, in advance.

I don't think so...
Isuzu=Japan
KIA=Korea
Definitely not interchangeable.
Maybe you can find an adapter plate kit, but I'm reasonably sure that a different tranny would be a good idea... That engine probably has quite a bit more power than the LUV one...
good luck!

It's my understanding that the Geo's were built by Isuzu in those years. When I bought my bucket seats from a Geo Storm GSI it had a Isuzu tag on the door post VIN tag. With that being said I wonder if it would be a replacement engine. I usually get to the junk yards every other week, if you don't have a answer by then I will take a look and a few measurements to see if it could be done.

The Prism is really a rebadged Toyota Corolla...so the short answer is no...it will not bolt up.

here are your other engine options though...as far as stuff that will bolt up to your tranny

Isuzu G200Z (bigger version of the G180Z already in there...shares a lot of the same parts)
Isuzu 4ZD1 (2.3L motor offered in the 86-87 Trooper and 87-95 Pup (also available in the base model Amigo))
Isuzu 4ZE1 (2.6L and fuel injected version of the 4ZD1...can be made carby by using a 4ZD1 intake manifold)

the later 2 options will bolt to your tranny but you'll have to mess around with flywheel/clutch combos to get it to work.

edit...forgot to add that versions of the G200 and 4ZD1 were offered in the Isuzu Impulse as well...little bit higher performance compared to their truck counterparts, but still the same basic motor
