 Post subject: leaf spring conversion

I need advice on switching my 4wd to leaf springs instead of those retarded torsion bars.

I was thinking about dana 60s mainly because I am puting a 364ci cadillac under the hood.

i think 60s are weaker than 44s if i remember correctly (probally not!)

That is incorrect. The 60 is stronger than the 44. Rockwells are bigger...

i thought there was a disadvantage to the 60 over the 44 but i'm by far not a expert on danas.

I dont think the 44 would really hold up to 40in tires, I will probably just use the dana 60 in the front, and a 14 bolt in the rear.

the only "disadvantage" you might call it to a 60, is i dont think a 15" rim will fit....just go 17" bling! and no a 44 wont hold up to 40" tires, not even with chromos..... I'm gonna try and feather it with my 39"s this winter... :P

What advice are you looking for really? in leaf springs there are a lot, and I would worry too much about the caddy pushing that much HP :lol: Are you looking for advice on what style of leaf to use or what?

do you have a set of axles lined up?

No im just trying to get some ideas, but I have already started on it I bought some 6'' lift springs for a half ton chevy and I got the rear mounted, still working on the front, thanks for the advice.
