On my way to the store yesterday I spotted a luv with a cardboard sign in the window, and when I came back the sign said make offer.The truck has a few rust spots and dents with a canopy and the paint is faded.The interior needs restoring and all the tires are flat.How much should I offer him for the truck?

Thats a hard call without seeing it. What year is it, how many miles, is it 2x4 or 4x4 and does it run?? From the sound of your description, I would say under $500.

The truck is a 78 it's a 4x2 did'nt get how many miles it has, and it runs. The passenger door has a whole bunch of holes in it.

i would guess some where in the 200 area

I'd get $150 out of the bank in cash, offer $100 (pulling two fifties out of your pocket) and see where it takes you. I did that with the last LUV I got and had to pull the other fifty out of my pocket but ended up driving it home. (Cracked head and all) From the sound of it, I wouldn't give more than $200 for it, and that only if it ran well. That much body work will leave you looking for another truck just to have donor parts.

Another thing to ask is if it has a title. If it does not, then I'd knock it hard on that point. Only worth parts, have to find a truck with a title to swap parts to in order to use it, etc.
