Workin nights , boardin up tommorow , stayin at the house through this one unless it get's high 4 or 5 . My parents and wifes mom are really to old to take a chance getting stuck in traffic . Tommorow will be busy boarding up .

I talked to my son tonight, he said they are going nuts in Columbus where he works. He stopped to pick up a few things at the grocery store and people are hitting the stores hard. I am going there to check on my house, and stuff. I'll swing by his place too. Columbus got hit bad the refuges from Rita, real bad. The Wallymart parking lot was declared a disaster zone after that weekend....

Stay safe everyone... They have scared some people by saying there could be hurricane winds up as far as Austin County, his place and mine too. But I stays one and a half hrs north now.

They've called for manditory evac south of us , so the roads are bumper to bumper headed north.

Talked to my daughter tonight. She works in San Antonio, and Lives outside of Boerne. They are going nuts there too.
Everyone is wound up tight... sometimes I think the media does that too well. I hope it will bring rain to those that need it real bad.... But leave the rest of us the hell alone.

you are correct papa and it's 7th year after 9/11.

I was think about 9/11 on the way down today.

I picked up all the loose stuff at my house and then went to my son's and did the same. The dealer ship he is at will be closed tomorrow. They are watching traffic on I 10.. Brenham was crazy, Walmart has been shopped out, batteries, ice chests and on. Lowes to. DPS is out as well as city cops. Flashing sign, no refuge here, go on to Belton. TxDot was at the light on HWY36 and US 290. I guess he takes over if the traffic gets backed up too far.

My Luv is on my tow dolly down there. I think it will be ok. No high water there I know. If it floods we are in some big doo doo.

i learned the older i get that the exact years don't matter( just like b-days) just as long as you remember the date it happened.

It's funny how when your 7,8,10,12 evryone is always asking "How old are you now?; so I always new my age. Once when I was about 27, I was asked how old are you, and I couldn't remember. I hadn't been asked in a long time and had not thought about it either. I had to do the math. I knew I was 26 or 27 but wasn't sure which one for sure.

Watching the local stations. Galveston Island could be completely covered by water. Ike is still 200+ miles away and downtown has water on it from the storm drains. The Seawall has waves breaking over it.

Freeport has sand over the roads making people get stuck.

Baytown has 4' higher tides than yesterday, calm..... But the 20' surge on Galveston bay, which is Baytown too, is scary.

Im still here . i'll check in till the power goes out . House is secured as it is gonna get . To late to leave now . Baytown has had no rain , but is beginning to flood in low areas due to storm surge . Later
