It's in now. I plan on going for some shake down passes next weekend if the weathr cooperates, but I don't know if I'm gonna spray it until I make a couple of shakedowns. I made a lot of changes to calm it down for the launch and i need to check them out first...

 I was wondering if someone would catch that. I just moved the empty trailer around and loaded the truck. The Nissan doesn't like puling the empty trailer...

I was going to say hope the track wasn't very far from you if you had to use the Nissan to pull the trailer. Looks like a load for the old truck.

Well, the results weren't what I hoped for. The weather apparantly screwed the lights, so after a 3 hr delay, we decided to say the heck with the time slips, let's hand flag.

1st pass, the brakes wouldn't hold. It's pretty common for the LUVs calipers to stick, I pulled both of mine and got them back up to snuff earlier, but the bleeding job was not good. SO, I came back around and we bled them.

2nd pass, the brakes were OK, so I trie to do a burnout, I added an electric shift solenoid, but I didn't hook up the wiring, for some reason, it kept kicking in with the 3 step, but it's not powered up, came back around and took it out.

3rd pass, hooked hard, left GREAT! :( No high gear...

All in all, pretty much what I expected. It hooked good even with the crappy track prep, so I might get it to hook with the fogger out of the gate, whenever I pull the tranny and replace the clutches...

Below is a pic of 2 of the local guys I run with. The green one is another stepside LUV and the silver car is a carbuerated LS1 drag radial/ stock suspension car that is pretty stout when the kits come in...

Doesn't it suck having problems at the track. I know what that is all about but that is part of racing. Keep us posted.

There are at least 7 LUV's local to me, all of them are drag trucks, none of them have accepted an invitation to join. Most of them claim to not know how to use a computer...

And Ctmndu, I actually took a close up just for you, but the pic came out too dark. Maybe next time...

Well, in between rain squalls from Gustav, we tore down the tranny. The valve body mounting bolts worked loose and it blew the gaskets. Loss of fluid pressure wiped out the Kevlar band and the high gear clutches and seals. Looks like all that's needed is the above mentioned parts and some Star-loc washers...
