well while on my way to work to day i got hit in the luv....

I just made the turn and was about 150yds to the driveway to work...
As I made the turn about 40 feet is another business driveway and there was a Tundra with its signal on waiting for me to pass to may the turn, little did I know there was a ford taurus behind him the didn’t want to wait to make the turn so as I was passing the Tundra the ford pulls out to flip a U-turn and BAM :shocked!: hits me and spun me around 180 degrees, was facing the wrong way in my lane... I thought my truck was wiped out he hit me so hard, so I get out and thought ok lets go pick up the fiberglass pieces because he hit me in the bed... and low and behold not much damage but the front of his was messed up... long story short I am ok not a scratch and I drove my truck home from Portland and all is well... here are some pics of the damage.. Oh and today was my anniversary (nice present) :smt021

I am amazed it did so little damage to the glass fender. Glad you are OK.

Looks like the rim/tire took the brunt of it. Make sure you dont have a bent axel.

One thing we need to think about is the value of our trucks. A LUV books out at about $1200.00 on a good day per State Farm. I have a agreed value on mine for about $225.00 a year more then standard value.

Man..that sucks! Sorry to hear about that Cat.

But don't worry...I'll help you out. I'll gladly buy it from your insurance company cheap, rent a trailer, and come down and drag it out of your yard and up to mine....just as soon as your insurance company totals it out and pays you...lol

And it's OK - you don't have to thank me...after all, what are friends for?

J/K..lol

Looks like you were pretty lucky, it could have been way worse! At least you weren't hurt and was able to drive away. Tough little trucks, they just don't build them like they used to! Hope the repair isn't too bad for you.

I would still take it to 3 different high end repair shops and get estiments....then take them to their insurance company and collect some money. Or have them pay for a rental and let the body shop fix it.

Just my .02

Good to hear no one got hurt :!:

Sorry to hear about this. Looks like the truck will keep on keepin' on...

Happy Anniversary, too. This could have been a different story... Glad you're ok!

Bummer. :( Looks like you got off easy though. Might check the pinon bearings and stuff inside the diff. That's probably where the brunt of the hit was. Make sure you get some extra $ for the unseen future repairs of the diff and axle. Good that it drove ok, but still, you never know.

Look at the leaf springs from the rear forward. Make sure they are still in line. Make sure the bed is even with the cab on both sides.
My buddy got hit like that in his ( I think '02) S10. Spun him 180 and then he went up on 2 wheels. It got up to the ballance point and fell back down. He thought he was going over! His axle was ok but the bed was in bad shape. He got it fixed and sold before he any problems could arise. It was just a commuter truck for him anyway.
