I have a '73, and i want to keep the stock motor in it, but i would like to get a little more power out of her. I have been thinking about a Carb upgrade (Weber) but beyond that, i cant find much. Anyone know of any other parts??

header , cam and on some of the early luvs they had kits for twin SU carbs that did great for extra power or as you said you can use a weber but it has to be the reverse type. Or you cable linkage will be on the wrong side... don’t remember what the part number difference is but do a little reach and you shall find out

Pretty frequently asked question. =)
Go to Drivetrain Upgrades, and then look for the sticky post:

Good point Zane.

But in 73Mc.Luvin's defense, that thread pertains mostly to the later model Luvs (after '74) with the exhaust and intake on seperate sides of the engine. His is the earlier style Luv ('72 - '74) with the intake and exhaust on the same side of the engine.

There isn't a lot of high-performance stuff available for that older style engine, but there was an Offy intake for one on here and on ebay awhile back that I don't think ever sold. A weber would bolt right up to that, so if you can track it down and get it, I'd highly recommend it. I had a '72 that ran one and it made a huge difference. It went by-by with the offy intake on it, and the guy is V8'ing it - so I'll check with him and see if he still has the intake and carb. (I kinda doubt it....so don't get your hopes up too high though...lol).
