I was wondering how some people have there exhaust ran with V8/V6 swaps? If it is down one side under the bed, along the drive shaft etc. I am thinking of running mine along both sides the driveshaft but I am not sure if there is enough room between the stock gas tank and driveshaft for a 2.5 inch exhaust.

I like flames on my truck just not like that. :esurprised !

Thanks

Your fuel tank will be in the way, unless you have them very short. Then all the noise will be in your cab. Try to get them behind the cab. You will be glad. Mine goes down both sides .. My tank is in the bed, till I do something else. Factory tank too, I do have a hot rod - dune buggy style that I am going to put in the back.

It makes it easier to run your pipes on the passenger side.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

ok thanks. I thought that what it would take. I want the exhaust to exit out back so I can have a conversation while driving. I just hope I can go over the mounts b/c the truck has been lowered about 3" all the way around.

You can split it after the tank, to have duals. Some Camaros were like that. They only had one muffler. All the late model trucks with these cat back systems are like that. They have to go past the fuel tank before they split into duals. Just look up some cat back systems. Any muffler shop can do that too. It will cost more, but what ever you want and what you can afford to pay.

I have dual exhaust all the way back, here is a pic of how the shop ran mine. My truck is dropped 3" and no clearance problems. There is no way to run them on both sides of the driveshaft with the stock gas tank.

I'm running 2.5" duals tucked close to the frame. They hook into a single muffler designed for larger trucks with 2 inlets and 2 outlets on the passenger side across from the fuel tank. I'll try posting pics soon.

That is how I want to do mine when I get around to it. I would even keep them together like they are ran. No mistaken the sound of Flowmasters.. No rice burner here 8) ( But I do own some German Kraut burners).
