Alright, this is a problem I've been having with my 1980 4-wheel drive luv, i had the transmission rebuilt but the place that rebuilt accidentally put the wrong rear seal in, so when i went to put the drive shaft in the seal was to small and the drive shaft wouldn't go in. So i went to carquest to get a different seal, but the seal that was recommended was the one that the repair shop had put in. Since i no longer have the old seal i have nothing to cross reference, does anybody know of the right type of seal or where i could get one?

I had the same problem about 2 years ago with my 4x4, Autozone had that same seal that was too small. I finally found the correct seal from NAPA, but unfortunately I can't find the part number.

I finally found the number, had it wrote in my truck manual. It is part# 14773, made by Chicago Rawhide. Hope this helps.
