by street tires you mean run of the mill tires or drag radials? If just a set of regular tires go to a set of drag radials or slicks. There were a couple of us that used bens home made slapper bars with good results. I was running 1.60 60 foot 11.86 1/4 times on 9 inch slicks with a 2.80 rear gear and mini spool. it got hairy on a ill prepared track, but that will happen with most cars on a bad track. I think he has an article on his slapper bars, but there are always other areas to consider shocks pinnion angle etc.

i was running road huggers 295/50-15's i worked on my pinion angle a little and now running Goodyear slicks.i removed the bottom leaf i guess its the over load spring, took off the shocks put them in the trash.i can say i am hooking up better. hold the brake pedal, hold the gas at 2,500 rpm let go of the brake and go.i have had a few situations though where the tires will break loose mid way through 1rst gear though.probably need to play with the air pressure some.im running 12psi now seems to be leaving a good foot print.i have a set of slapper bars there junk though.i have a set of cal tracs ordered.

hey racelife i see one of your toys is a 99 banshee, how do you like it and how does it compare to your raptor 700.i have a 2000 banshee, also a 03 z 400 with lots of mods on both.i have spanked a raptor 660 and a few yfz 450's havent rode against anyone with the 700 yet.

the 700 isn`t bad it`s the first 4 stroke I have owned so it has taken some time to get used to it. The banshee is easier to modify and to get power out of , the raptor has a better chassis for the most part. the radiator is really unprotected if you cart wheel it you will most likely smash it, speaking from experience. They are really two different animals dunes, flat out straight take the banshee. play trail riding the raptor it has a tone of torque and you don`t have to shift as often wheelies over everything plus reverse. But because the raptor is taller its also a little slower through tight woodsy stuff at times. One thing nice about the raptor no jetting you know what a pleasure it is to jet a banshee. I live at 1400 ft elevation just took out the raptor this weekend camp was about 8000ft some of the hills about 9000 ft ran great. I used to desert race the banshee, I thought about trying the raptor but they don`t make a desert tank for it still might try it though.
you should run shocks on the back you can try some adjustable drag shocks. I think tech can fail you for not having shocks if I remember right. I here the cal tracs work very well. There are quite a few people on here running quick times with small tires. Road huggers are great for commuting thats about it.

i ride with a guy sometimes that has a 660 raptor.i know thr 660's and 700's are a little top heavy.the raptors and yfz450's are great rides. i bought my ltz 400 for trail riding, reverse and the low end torque.my banshee the power is on or off, great to ride in open area's.i can trail ride it and did till i got the ltz 400.but every thing is easier on the ltz climbing hills etc.my banshee will spank the snot out of my ltz though and my ltz isnt near stock.itsgot the athena bigbore kit stage 3 hot cams,k&n filter no airbox lid intake spacer trail porting stage 5 pipe, dyna rev box etc.banshee will still kill it.but like you say there 2 diferent animals.on my truck i am going to put shocks back on it,just playing with it trying different things seing what works and what dont.i guess by trying all the different combination's of things i will see what it needs.im putting a cheater system on it this weekend i snagged off or ebay.250hp cheater system but im going to dial it in fo 150 shot.i also bought an extra bottle so im not running back and forth filling.i think its cool you got a couple atv's to play with,i lve mine.
