Well, while I am waiting for my coils I have started on my firewall. Was just wondering. i have cut out all the protrusions and am in the process of fiberglassing up the holes to flaten it out for painting. Was wondering if I should just cut out the whole thing and glue in a new piece or continue with my glassing and filler.
If I cut it out it I am not sure how to make the indention for my distributor were as now it is fine and just needs some smoothing from being hammered in.
Don't want aluminum, want a painted smooth firewall. I don't have the means or expertise to weld in a panel but I do know the 3m panel adhesive is very very good and most body shops now use it instead of welding on panels. I could leave a 1 inch lip all the way around to adhere the new metal to.

If you leave the stock firewall in place you aren't required to have a knee bar on your roll cage to pass tech, if you are going to install one that is...
