Well,I got my work cut out for me
Lots of rust and moss, not sure if the moss was an option that year or not.
Technically I am the 2nd owner.
The guy I got it from never did a thing to it or transfer title.
The title I got is the Original title issued in 74,same with the plates on it.
The wiring is all intact, never molested.

I'd keep it and fix it up.

After all...it's not every day you find an older style Mikado Moss Edition with the Optional Rust Trim Package.

"Mickey Moss"

Basically this is the LUV I've been looking for.
Clear paper, all original and mostly complete.
It'll be getting the v6 treatment come Springtime,in the meanwhile everything has to be gone through and alot of it replaced.

Well, the 74 project is still on hold while I hunt down parts.
But for a mere $200.00 I drove this little beauty home yesterday.
The guy was getting ready to haul it to the scrapper.
She runs real rough right now, gonna start tinkering with it today to remedy that.
Lotsa rust, but nothing that can't be fixed, mostly surface.
Another one saved, and a 4x4 to complete my collection. :ebiggrin

Man wish I could have a find like that. There isn't much around here for Luvs and the ones you do find are junk and they want a pretty penny for it!!

There are a '76 and a '79 here in a yard. Both have nice beds, cabs and front fenders. I don't think anyone else knows they are there, as they are nearly 100% complete.

I can give you the yard info if you can't find anything local, parts are reasonably priced at this yard. I haven't tried to buy anything off of the Luv's though, they may decide they are gold plated and get silly with prices. I've dealt with this yard quite a bit, so I doubt it, but you never know...

Good luck, a couple of nice finds there.

The parts I am hunting down for the 74 are for the V-6 conversion.
I've already got a good running Buick 231 even-fire,200 r4 tranny, and am waiting on the delivery of an S10 rearend.
Gotta go to the scrapyard and get the materials to fab my mounts and such.
Did I forget to mention that the 74 was free. :D
And of the parts listed above, the only thing I payed for is the rearend.$35.00 :D

Now,the 4x4 is gonna need a new head gasket, and probably new timing chain.

But before I start tearing either of them apart I have to get the Arrow project back together and out of the garage.

Update on these 2 projects.

They're gone. 8O

My wife said I had gotten out of hand with my obsession/projects,and something had to give.
So,after much discussion and a ton of concessions I ended up selling both of these trucks.

The 74 will more than likely be parted out,as on further inspection it needed a lot of work.
Not my worry anymore.

The 4x4 was sold to a young lady that was looking specifically for a LUV 4x4 for a complete frame up project.

My yard now has room for the 76 N.Idaho stepside that I just purchased today.
She comes home tomorrow, pics will ensue :D
