the one thing that bothers me is the gaping hole that consist of the gas cap.has any body come up with an idea that cover the hole created by the gas cap and the fill spout

no i still have the old gas tank its just that there is no door has any body adapted those new chrome addons for their gas door

i ordered one off of jc whitney. my gas tank is not on the side any more tho. i cut out the floor in the bed and filled in the gas hole in the side and im in the process of movin the tank to the front righthand side of the bed and laying down a peice of sheet metal and makin a hole in the top of it for the fill spot. im sure that sounds weird or its hard to understand. but basically i have just a box and like a permanent toneau cover on top with a gas cap on the corner sunk down under so i can have a nice lil cover. im also going to weld that on and weld the tailgete shut and give it a smooth look

i cut a hole in my wheel well of the bed and mounted it up there then just shave the original hole in thats what i did on my 80 i am trying to come up with a way to put it behind my tail light in my 79
