 Post subject: fixing the trans

ok i got the stuff to fix the trans i got the hole clutch kit with pilot,presher plate any thing you all can say to help all info good or bad ok i was going to also put the 5-speed in at the same time but it is the one that has the remote on it and i need to kut the floor about 6" back and move the fuel lines i will see when i get the trans out i got the whole kit for 105.00 dam good deal

got the trans out and again i did not need to pull the motor with it i am going to put the clutch kit in tomorrow and drive it and then this summer i am going to put the 5speed and disc rearend in after i save up sum $$$ for sum parts that i need to complete the job right :lol:

i got the tool to pull the pilot bearing out and that sun of a snitch will not come out i put wd-40 and i am going to let it sit over night and try tomorrow and now i need a flywheel mine as sum cracks in it and i got the trans out so i will do it right this time ok laters to all and happy new years :microwave: :drinking: :popcorn: :smt021 :smt020 :smt028 :smt043 :smt050 :smt068 :smt067 :smt066 :smt064

Never pulled the pilot in a LUV, but on others I've packed the pilot hole full of grease and used an appropriate sized wooden dowel or piece of round stock to just slip in the pilot hole and forced the bearing out by using a shop hammer and tapping on the dowel.

i did that lol and the little ring popped of and the grease came out :( it was funny so i went and got the tool and it is just rusted :x :? in there but i will win in the end lol i am getting a new fly wheel for $60.00 so that is a good deal $170.00 total for a new clutch set up i luv it and next is the rearend

well i got it out it had to be cut and i also used a dremel it had gotten hot and welded it self but i got the new one in and my new fly wheel will be in tomorrow after noon and on the 5 speed the shifter plates are not the same so i will still need to cut a hole but no big deal i have been cutting up trucks and cars for years and any one know what the torc specs are on the fly wheel bolts the 6 that hold the fly wheel on lol :wink:

i need the torc specs for the fly wheel any one got them thanks for all your help guys i will be driving my luv hopefully by the weekend after 8 months 8) :P then i need to but new brakes on the rearend

Probably too late but torque specs for flywheel are 69 ft lbs.
