hey, does anyone on here have a 32/36 that they bought from ebay or anything.

actually does anyone have a weber that runs good on there truck??

im still thinkin part of my poppin and spittin problem on my truck is cuz its jetted too fat.

so i was wonderin if someone thats got a good runner could tell me the numbers on the jets in the fuel bowl, and the ones that are on the top.

if i can get those numbers from a good runner, i can just go buy some new jets and hopefully itll run alot better.

if someone could to that for me, i would appreciate it greatly!!

Well not sure If I'll be much help but I can try ...I have a New Weber on mine the problem is theres one which improves HP and the other Model which I have was supposedly better for gas Mileage although it also boosted the Hp or at least it feels like it did. But then everything I do not matter how big or small seems to help boost it's power.

It well for me right out of the Box although for us tweakers that wasn't good enough so I adjusted it as I wanted to....No matter what adjustment I did to it effected the proformance of the Carb itself. There are other probs I'm having but that will change soon because I'm doing a Motor swap. However that New Carb will be going on the New motor so I can't say I have any complaints. I'm sure a couple of the other guys will see this after they slow down to a blur (due to the Holidays and all) and they'll be able to give you better specifics. I bought a Weber, put it on my 78 with a g200. It ran great except for just off of idle. I swaped it over to my 79 4X4 with a g200 also, and same thing. It will run great down the freeway or wherever. But leaving from a stop, just off of idle it will choke and sputter and even die. It's not the accel. pump, I've checked that. It will do it constantly if I hold the throttle right there at that spot.

I am looking for answers also. I was hoping to find someone around here that can help me tune it also. I was thinking it could be jetting also.

FIAA: Color Guard

One of the weber carb sites on the internet will tell you all you need to know about prim.jets sec. jets and other info about the weber. Not sure which one it was but it has diagram of the weber telling you what all the specs were. The manual choke is different from the electric choke.
I bought one on ebay, said it was rebuilt but would not run right. So I checked it with the specs and it had wrong jets and other things wrong with it. So I had to re-jet it back to factory specs plus had to re-set the throttle plates to the correct adjustment specs according to the weber book and got it to run just fine.

i need to get this carb figured out here soon. im tired of this truck runnin like crap.

I found it at (http://www.webercarbsdirect.com) in the tech information sub-category carburetor schematics, but when I just tried it , it would not bring it up. It has the factory settings for the carbs. You might have better luck bring it up. If not have to found another site with that information.

okay... i need help.

totally dismantled the carb last night and cleaned every little nook and cranny i could. i replaced the blown power valve with a spare i had, and put it back together. i also checked all the jets, and theyre all stock for the carb.

so today i put it on the truck and start it and it still runs like shit. hell it hardly runs now. it still flooding out. i dont know what to do. ive got s FPR on it thats set at 1.5psi, the choke it completely open... i dont know what else is wrong. this is like the 5th time ive had the carb off and im about to just smash the fucker with a sledge.

any help would help now.

By running do you mean idles(even halfway decent) the chugs and dies when you give it any gas? Mine did this right after I installed the FPR, I had it set too low. And after adjusting it for more pressure, had to give it a couple seconds to even out. Currently running it at 3.5.

Also make sure both butterflys are free, mine was hung on the gasket after install and wouldnt open.

What's the state of your intake mani? cracks etc?

well i dont know how to decribe how it runs. like i can let it sit for 10 min and start it and itll run for maybe a second, and then itll die. then i can try gettin it started for like a minute and i can eventually get it runnin. but it runs very bad (poppin, spittin out of the carb, loading up). once i do this for about a minute itll try and idle, but then it loads up and dies. sometimes if i can get past the idle circuit, i can let it sit at 2700-3000 and itll be fine.

so i have no idea whats wrong. i read the whole weber troubleshooting manual, and did everything that i could.

Sounds like insufficient fuel pressure maybe...

I got a weber that never ran right for me and im gettting ready to tear it apart and look at the jets and all the stuff inside it, i know the stock fuel pressure is like 7psi. for the pump that i run my hitachi with, but could the problem have been that i was getting too much pressure into the carb? what is the ideal pressure to run a weber at? 79-LUV'r says his is set at 3.5 psi, now i know i can get a carb FPR from the parts store but could it be something else that wrong , my weber is doing almost exactly what Farmer Joe's luv is/was doingit would sit and idle for a bit then after a while it would load up and start to run like shit and if i didnt hop back in and hammer down the throttle then it would sputter and die, it also got really shitty fuel economy when i did take the short distance that i had to move it, it shouldnt take a 1/4 tank of gas to make a 30min trip should it? (at 45mph on level road)

I bought a 32/36 DGV off of Craigslist and it runs great. The guy told me it came off of a Toyota truck. Unfortunately, I don't remember the engine size.

I've never had the top off, so I don't know the main jet numbers, but the air correctors (the ones in the top) are numbered 160 for the primary and 760 for the secondary.

Oh, and I have it on a G200 with electronic ignition and an Offy manifold from Mokadeth (thanks Mokadeth!). I've never had it on a stock manifold.

I know this isn't much, but I hope it helps a little.

How do you like the Offy? Have you noticed an increase in performance? I haven't got mine installed yet, so I don't know. Sorry to get off track, didn't want to hijack the thread. I hope you get your Weber working properly and hopefully something isn't faulty with it.

After looking at some iformation about the weber itself i found that the stock 7psi that the luv fuel pump runs at is way too much for the weber, so i gotta find an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, they got them at the local parts store so i think when i got some extra cash im gonna get one and go ahead and rebuild my weber, something else i found that part of the linkage is missing from the primary to the secondary, there is no way for it right now to open the secondary under its own power, so im gonna have to figure that out before i start to tear into it...

Just a little more info to add to my previous reply:

My secondary air corrector jet is a 160, not a 760. I looked up the Weber stock values and 760 made no sense. So I looked again. The 1 on the secondary has a big seriff that made it look like a 7. Sorry about that.

I'm not running a pressure regulator, but I did connect the return line. I'm sure a regulator helps, but if you've got major popping and spitting, I don't think that's your problem.

Also, jetting a little fat wouldn't cause your problem either. It might cause some stumble off idle, but not popping and spitting.

I'd look for something more fundamental, like a vacuum leak. Maybe your adapter isn't sealing right to the manifold. Or maybe one of the jet holders for the idle jets is letting air in.

Or, if you did anything to the ignition in-between changing carbs, you could have an ignition or timing problem.

Just a couple of thoughts.
