Just maybe you should try to get a hold of somebody in upper management and find out what the problem is.

I'm pretty sure the guys in upper management, don't even remember they own a foundry...

Whether they own the foundry I am not sure, I don't think they do. Offenhauser just does the final milling after they come back from the foundry. I have apparently been dealing with the Offenhauser owner. I have called them a number of times over the last couple weeks and every time I call it either rings and rings or the guy I need to talk to is on the other line or not there. I told the guy I talked to to leave him a message. I just tried again Friday and got the normal guy that answers the phone and he said the guy I need to talk to is not there. After I asked if I could maybe deal with someone higher up he said that the guy I am dealing with is the only one and that he is the owner. So I guess he was right when he told me in the past that I had to go through this guy. I don't know what the reason is that he hasn't placed the order with the foundry yet? I told the guy to let him know I called. I plan on trying to get ahold of him this week as well. All I can guess is that this order is probably not top priority on their list and the owner just gets busy with other stuff? Maybe if I told him I wanted to order a few hundered of them then maybe we would get some results! Anyway, wish I had better news, but I will continue to keep after them so we can get these manifolds ordered! I will post more info when I get it.

Im sure lynx or redline would have cranked you out a few manifolds if you wanted to put on side draft carbys.

Its a bit disgraceful.

Someone said about the 4bbl manifold. The carb it was for was a special holley carb it was something like 280cfm 4bbl.

Good news for a change! :D I guess my calling and leaving messages worked finally. I actually received a call from Offenhauser Monday afternoon before I had a chance to try and call again! I was surprised. All this time I have been dealing with the owner Tay Offenhauser and I didn't know he was the owner until this past week. Anyway, he said things are going to start rolling now and the order is going to be placed with the foundry on Tuesday. He will be calling me back again today to let me know more on the timing of things once the order is placed. I guess it all depends on how busy the foundry is. He said once they receive them back it should only take a week and a half to machine them. He said he would have to talk to his brother who runs production to find out exactly. I really don't know why this has taken so long? He said it wouldn't take 5 months if I need to place another order in the future, just the length of time it would take to manufacture more. Apparently they have been pretty busy and the foundry they use to do the 4 cylinder manifolds is not their main foundry. The reason for part of the delay was that he has to place a minimum order with the foundry to keep the price down, so to make that minimum he is combining my order with someone else who wants some manifolds for the Toyotas. He said they use this foundry for the 4 cylinder manifolds because they are very good at casting them and he said there are some little tricks to making them and this foundry is better at that then their main foundry. So it looks like finally this is going to be happening and hopefully all continues to go well! Hopefully we will have these sometime in the next month or 2. I will continue to keep everyone updated as I find out more and I will also try to get those couple pictures and info pages he sent me scanned and posted here for reference purposes.

Man Mokadeth, that is great news! I'm glad you hung in there for all of us!

I am so looking forward to the day when I can take that POS stock intake off my engine and chuck it into my scrap bin.

BTW Bob...you know they won't do fewer than 25 of any manifold style in any order and they have to be paid for in advance...right?

That's controlled by the foundry, and unfortunately offenhauser can't/won't deviate from this.

That is correct taz, I would have to do a whole run of the other model as well and there isn't as much of a demand for those as there is for the 6204. I suppose if I could sell that many I would take them on as well, but I don't think I could. Shipping overseas would probably be crazy too. We all know what they charged on those new dashes! I haven't heard back from Offenhauser yet, but I will keep everyone updated when I do.

You can ship via economy surface mail (boat). Works out pretty cheap.

How much for the 6204??? How many did you have left.

Well I didn't get anything yet rodeobob! Still in the works. I have no idea what shipping would be like to Australia. Maybe if there is enough interest in the future I will take on distributing those too? Lets just see how this goes first. Anyway, I got a message on my answering machine tonight from Offenhauser while I was gone to the Alice Cooper concert. Any other day I would have most likely been home to answer the call! He said he has some more information for me, so now I need to call him back. I will keep everyone informed on what I find out.

In the beginning he was expecting around $210US.
I have shipped to AU & the PO doesn't do slow anymore.
The good thing is it gets there in 7 - 10 days.
Less than 4lbs is cheap but I don't think you wanna ship it in pieces. 8O
Not sure how much they weigh but 20lbs = $93US & 30lbs = $121US.
If it's close to 20lbs you may be able to get an economy rate <$40.

Well they aren't all spoken for as of yet, unless some people have been just watching this thread and haven't said they would take one. I think about 16 people wanted one, there were 3 or 4 maybes. I am hoping to at least have a few left on hand for when someone needs one. We will see I guess. If and when I need to do another run it should be much faster the next time around. The price will be $220 USD, unless they up the price some more, but I don't think that will be happening with this run. Maybe future runs there will be an increase? The weight should hopefully be around 15lbs because I believe the manifold weighs about 12lbs. I will know for sure when I get them. Anyway, $220 is the price because I have finally got the exact amount I need to send them and am going to send the check out this week. I returned the call to offy today and he said the order has been placed with the foundry. They are at about 3 to 4 weeks time now which is good because it could have been 5 to 6 weeks. He said they should have the rough castings back at the plant in October. Then it should only take a week and a half to 2 weeks to machine them. So we are hopefully looking at about the very end of October or early November. Of course there will be the time involved from when they ship out to me and the time to ship them to everyone who wants one. I will be keeping everyone updated as things progress. He said now that this is happening he will be calling me weekly with updates. I will let everyone know where to send payment to and figure out the shipping costs in PM when the time comes. I will only be taking money orders because I don't want to worry about bouncing checks. I would accept Paypal too, but the fees would hit me pretty good on this amount. In the meantime I will work on those scans of the pics and info sheets he sent me. I am just happy that this is finally coming to frutition for all of us. Thanks for all the patience, it will be worth it to have these manifolds!

Yep, I have both of you guys on the list. They will be $220 + shipping and insurance. I will have to wait and see what the exact weight will be once I get them and then I would be able to quote shipping prices. It will all depend on where they are going as well. I am still hoping that the manifold will fit in one of the USPS Priority flat rate boxes? Then the weight wouldn't matter and it would be cheaper than FedEx. I think UPS will be too expensive. We will see once I get them.

Ok, here are the scans of the info sheets and pics of the manifolds. He didn't have a picture of the 6204-CW, but I guess the 6204-C is very similar, just the bolt holes are a little different for the Holley carb. I will probably take some pictures of the actual manifold when I receive them. Hope this info is a good reference for anyone who is interested.
