my truck was runnin fine and now it won't idle. It will run pating the gas but runs real ruff. my resistor ontop of the coil gets hot when the key is on. Is this normal? I'm trying 2 check the solinoid on the carb 2 see if its gettin fire when the key is on but I dont no where it is. There are 3 different things that look posible 2 be the solinoid 2 me. This is in a hatichi carb

Try to adjust the idle screw clockwise just a bit, barring electrcal, that may help idle.

yeah that resistor will get hot normaly. check your point gap, spark, fuel and whatnot.
