My plan is to build this one better then my white prostreet one, after all this one is for my wife and her weekend cruising. I hope to have it all done by the end of the year but it will be on the street in 3 weeks.

We got the block back from machining today and have all parts except for a good head. Here is the kicker, my wife will be putting the entire engine together with me advising. This will be fun, after all it is her truck. We should have a short block tomorrow. Lets see if I can get pic's of the Mrs. working (fully clothed you perv's).

She went out and bought gloves, we have way too much money invested in her nails.

We got the short block done today, I need to get a rebuildable head, mine was junk. The wife learned about staggering piston rings and torque values today.

Hey! It's chrome or no chrome right there on the both of your headlight rings.

Eng. looks good. Looks like Dawn is having fun. Sorry I can't get the cylinder head to you any sooner.

I hope to start really getting into the 4X next weekend when I get back.

I was showing my son the pics and he (jokingly) asked if it was front wheel drive. Because the block is on the stand in front of the truck sideways.

It is Saturday afternoon and I will watch the Busch race then go out and get-er-done. I stuffed the motor and trans last night so all I need to do is hook up all connections elect and cooling. Looks like it will be a runner today. I will post pic's later tonight or in the A.M tomorrow.

I would like to take a second for all of the members that have helped us (the wife and I) get this thing going. Sirjic found this truck on craigslist and passed it on to the general membership as he had no where to park and work on it. I was going to piece it out but Ctmandu pushed me into keeping it one piece. I needed a trans so Ron provided one that was one he got from Bob (roadshowbob). The head was junk so it was Ron to the rescue with a good core, I think the motor came from another member. Last member to thank would be Ben. Without this site this truck would be in the wreaking yard. This site has had a big hand into the buying the truck, the parts needed to get this running have been bouncing around this site for the last year. So basically thanks to Ben, Ron, Bob, and Ctmandu for all of the help. I have had the pleasure to meet all of these guys in person and they are as cool in person as they are on this site.

It is alive. Motor runs great and I have all 4 forward gears and one reverse. Runs cool. I replaced all Vac lines, coolant and fuel lines. One more LUV on the road.

I paid $233.25 to bore/hone, clean the block, clean and surface the head, valve job, check the springs, replace seals and check the guides and surface the flywheel.
