Anyone running Webers also using a fuel pressure regulator?

Been noticing fuel smelly oil and rising oil level. Not sure yet if this is from the carb dumping too much fuel, rings or both.

If it ain't one thing, it's a hundred :)

Anyway, did some research, found part of the problem could be the fact that, although I drive it everyday, I rarely go more than 5 blocks to a mile per shot. Not allowing the engine to heat up and evaporate extra fuel.

Still think the carb is dumping more than I need, but I have tried to adjust what the Weber info says is the mixture screw, but in following the instructions it says to run the engine then turn the screw all the way closed, the engine should die or run realy rough...doesn't affect mine at all, even closed runs normally... 8O 8O

The article also mentions faulty PCV, but with the Weber, I am not utilizing the PCV system, except for the vacuum from the intake to the small fitting on the side of the valve cover... the top "snorkel" tube of the valve cover I have a mod'd valve cover/oil fill filter.

still considering a fuel pressure regulator. any ideas how to measure the current pressure and what it would need o be running a Weber?

Thanks in advance

Ok, I at least feel better now. Installed a pressure regulator, currently running @ 3.5 PSI. Runs meh, at 2.5-3, but when I get to 3rd gear and nail it, the engine drops and souds starved. May have to go back and tweak the mixture to get it to run there. Going to leave it at 3.5 for a while.

Hope I also recooped some mpg.

:) no sweat man, in hindsight, the fact that I could'nt kill the engine with the mixture screw shoulda been a dead give away that I way too much pressure.

Where did you ever find a dual intake? Is that something else Offy no longer makes too?

Nice,

I guess Solex is now "backed" by Weber, my 34/34 is a Solex. Thinking of rejetting the secondary, but with the price of gas latley... :?

I know this post is way way old, but what fuel pressure regulators and gauges are you guys using to measure the pressure with?

Anything out there that is reasonably priced?

thanks
