:?: We've got a shredded and kinda lumpy original bench seat, wonder what other makes of bench seats will fit? An inch or 2 higher for the actual seat part is OK too, as the original seat bottom is sorta low. Please let me know, thanks!

Another user here 'jeffklam' sent me photos of his bench. He thinks it's an '87 or so Mazda truck seat. It's not an exact bolt in, but it sure fits nicely...

Hey, thanks for the photo! Yeah, that seems to fit in there pretty nicely! Hah, I thought it was just OUR Luv seat that was so crappy, lumpy, low and uncomfortable to sit on.

But now that I've been through a few wrecking yards foraging for parts, I've tried sitting on quite a few, and EVERY ONE I've sat on is just as bad! I have to assume they were just that crappy from the factory I guess.

I wonder if there is any way to improve the stock one to some moderately acceptable level of comfort?

Mine was in pretty bad shape, mostly the bottom felt like I was in a lowrider sitting on on a tub of spring steel.

I cut to fit some 2" thick sponge foam typicaly found in a sofa, then removed the entire seat to have room to work. Managed to pull what was left of the old seat bottom cover over the new foam and attach it here and there to the frame with long zip/cable ties. Then bought a nice saddle blanket style cover for about $20 to cover the whole thing.
They fit pretty good as is, fit really well if you have the seat out of the truck, easier to stretch, tuck and tie it in place.
