OK. So I go to the parts store to try and buy a new rubber hose line for the clutch and NO ONE could even come up with a number to look it up with. Any ideas for those of you so familiar with these trucks? Has anyone successfully converted a brake line to do the job? I know the diameter can be critical. The original still seems to function, but it is pretty dry looking and I really twisted it around trying to get it off the slave cylinder. Not sure I would trust it for long. Should I maybe see about having a new one made up?

Working our way into the maze!

I believe he is talking about a 77 or older truck with a hydraulically operated clutch.

Pinto7: did you check out http://www.rockauto.com for that hose? I don't know if they have it or not but its worth a shot.

Thanks for the help Guys! Yes, it is the hydrolic clutch. I'll try the part numbers. We hope to get this thing on the road soon. This is a BIG help!

Next time it might be best to unbolt the slave and turn it while holding the hose still. Wont twist up that way.

You could possibly try a hose off a different Isuzu if you get stuck.

Cheers, Bob

I was able to find a shop here locally that makes hydrolic hoses and they were able to make a better than new hose for me in about 15 min. Mobile Hydrolics Inc in Winder GA. Excellent job and very helpful. they do brake lines as well if anyone is in need.
