Like I said, I would like to introduce NUMBER TWO (in my best Dr. Evil voice)

Front view

Rear view, notice Bill the Cat

Engine runs and all smog is there. It does have some oil leaking issues
Image

Interior is not too bad, had A/C at one time, all that is left is elect and inside parts
Image

I kinda like this truck. I was going to strip it for parts and sell it, but all I need is a trans (this one is blown real bad) and stop the oil leaks and it would be a good daily driver. I am not too sure what to do with it, fix it and drive it, fix and sell and last case is to pull it apart for parts, but I highly doubt that.

Thanks Sirjic for the heads up on this stepside.

Ctmandu, what step side is this, notice the fillers on the cab?

My wife noticed that Bill was painted on in 1988, or that is what the artist put on it.

Well thanks to Ron (Rondog) I now have a good trans for it. Tomorrow I will pull the trans and motor, install the new trans and rebuild the motor. Wife wants to keep it for a weekend cruiser for her. She insists on bagging it so who am I to argue :D . Looks like paint, interior and clean up everything else. I hope to have it all done in 3-4 months.

I pulled the motor and trans. I have a good used trans and tore the motor apart. It appears that who ever built this motor had no clue as to fitting compression rings correctly which caused the pistons to crack. The bore is good and at .010 so a .020 bore should clean it up. The crank looks perfect as do the rods. Tomorrow the block goes to the machine shop for a bore, order the pistons and rings from them for a good fit. I had the conn rods checked and are good and we got away with a crank polish. I ordered all bearings, a full gasket kit and freeze plug kit. I will drop off the head to the same shop tomorrow for a valve job and new seals. I forgot how easy these motors are, I guess I am used to Cummins and Cats, what a pleasure to play with a motor like this.
