When I bought the truck from OkcLuvTruck I wasnt aware that in Oklahoma you have to have the title notarized.
Ok, so now Chris Engel/ OkcLuvTruck wont return my phone calls, however I can use caller ID blocker and he picks up on the first ring.
Of course he plays off like he cant hear me or something, then hangs up.

Chris had already signed his name and wrote his name on the title, just need to get it notarized.

Until then, I dont mind tearing the truck down, I cant buy anything for it.

So I started wondering, is it stolen or something? Checked the vin's the door vin that is on the paper is no longer readable, the tag inside the door matches the title, but the vin under the cowling doesnt quite match.
CLN1488209727 vs. C58209727

I contacted a lawer about doing a "queit title" but I am not sure what thats going to cost me, and I really dont want to give my wallet to a lawyer.

Just having one of them bad day's I guess.... I know who I can take it out on tho

Im pretty much at a stand still until I get this figured out.... if not then I dont know what Im going to do with it

When I had my truck inspected today, the VIN officer first of all got under the truck facing up with a roller cart. He used some sandpaper and a small wire brush and took a little time. I had no idea what he was doing! From the driver's seat, I got my video going and caught him just in time before he got out. When I asked him what he was doing, he said the VIN was stamped on the frame!!! He had glanced at the door frame VIN plate first, then checked to see that it was a match. (I hope you plate-swappers are reading this!) I will get under the truck and see where it is later.

I don't think that number under the cowling is the VIN.

im trying to do things the "legal" way... I have a friend who has a friend who can help me out getting the title straght... just waiting to find out if they will help or not

I just crawled under there (with sand paper in hand) and I didnt see any numbers stamped anywhere.
I think the newer vehicles are stamped there, but I dont think these older ones have the VIN on the frame.

I have a sandbalster that will find out, and if someone wants to rub on it with sand paper... well Im going to put some of that spray on bed liner on that.... so bring lots of sand paper

well i know what you mean..
Those tags on the doors never last...
Didn't they use to stamp it in the doors or something like that?

Yes, the VIN is on the frame!!!! It's on the front of the crossmember that goes across the middle of the truck. I believe it's just forward of the gas cap. I saw it just a few minutes ago. It doesn't have the CLN14, but the rest of my VIN is there. It's not in the middle, but a little on the driver's side. I had my wife look for it first, but she couldn't find it so I got down there and found it right away. Tell me if I need to take a photo of it and I will.

I take back what I said about the VIN under the cowling. It must be another place for the VIN, yes. All safeguards against thieves.

Get your wife or a lady friend to call Chris Engel and ask the question you need answered. Then go get your title notarized.

I know about the VIN number on the frame, but where's the one on the cowl? Does someone have a picture?

There's also a sticker on the door with the VIN number on it.

The one under the cowl is the serial number portion of the VIN, it should match the last several digits of the one on the plate in the rear of the door jamb. Remove the cowl, look for numbers stamped under it on the driver's side near the fender and that should be it.
