An 80 LUV with two headlights (one on each side) takes H6024 sealed beam bulbs and Sylvania makes one of their "Coolblue" in that size. Find them at most parts stores. On these you replace the whole work, the glass in the front and the part sealed inside the lights up, all as a single unit. Just grab a screwdriver and pull the light trim off, them loosen the three screws that hold the little ring right around the glass in the front on. Twist the ring so it will come off and the bulb comes right out. You'll see what I mean I think when you start taking it apart. Just stay away from the two larger adjuster screws and you'll be fine.

I have yet to drop the money on them, but I'd go more for the Sylvania SilverStar bulbs. Instead of being blue they are a very bright white, very close to the look of a HID lighting system like you might see on a new sports or luxury car. Blue might look cool to you, but you don't spend a lot of time looking at your own headlights coming at ya. The very white light from SilverStars makes everything in front of you nice and clear though, which I guess is more my thing.

If you really want to spend some money, you can get a HID conversion kit for 6024 bulbs, but expect to pay something like $400-500 for it. SilverStars are about $20-25 a side. Spendy but well worth it if you want better night time vision.

I took out the two adjuster screws. I didn't know any better. I replaced both of my lights with Sylvania's but one of them still doesn't work. But I called around and found someone who will wire them up off relays like described on the board here.

I am happy with just the plain old halogen bulbs :) Compared to my S-10, the LUV can see just great at night ! When I got my first LUV this Summer, I drove around for a couple days on low beam not realizing that forward on the switch was high beams ! duh, I almost broke the switch off the first time I pulled back on it ! lol, so I drove with just low beams on thinking they never had a switch or whatever. I thought the low beams were super bright compared to the S-10, but wow, when I found the high beams ! I think the LUV's have the best night time lighting out of anything I have ever driven ! 8)

There is also a H-4 conversion that you can do I did it and its inexpensive. This conversion is just like changing your headlight out but instead of sealed beams you know use composite lights. It takes an h-4 bulb that is made for motorcycles but you'll find that 9003 are the same and they are a bit brighter. At that point you have an endless supply of different styles or bulbs that you can run. There is no wiring to convert either the bulb plugs to your stock lights. Toucan makes the best conversion their called diamond clear. Makes it much easier for me to see. As for the silverstars, they have a half life of a regular bulb. Twice as much for half the life. I stuck with sylvania extra visions or performace as they are now called.

How about the chrome plastic "Bezel" that goes around the single headlights, can you get them new? If so, where?

I've been the Chevypartspro site.
I see they have Grilles and headlights, but didnt see the Bezels.

I have had the same set of sylvania standard halogens in my 77 truck for the last 12 years or so. I would not be upset at all to only get 5 years out of silverstars. I'm really not that unhappy with what I've got right now, so I've not bothered to upgrade.

Hella and Cibie make nice H4 conversion kits as well. I've never heard of Toucan specifically, I'll have to check them out and see if I can get a 4 light kit for less than the near $200 it takes from Hella.

I tried most of the links, also did a couple of searches on Google.
No luck though. I would think if the grill was reproducted, the bezel
would be made as well. :?:

I found a site that sells headlight bezels for LUVs. I had tried to get in contact with directautobodyparts.com. I found them on the links page here. Every time I tried to contact them, my message was returned with an "undeliverable" notice. So, I decided to give up on them.

Then one night surfing the net I came across http://www.2autobodyparts.com. They have the same inventory as directautobodyparts.com. Maybe directautobodyparts went belly-up and was sold to this new site, I dunno. Anyways, I ordered a bezel for my 80 and got it in the mail this past week. It looks good. I haven't put it on the truck yet, but it appears to fit. Shipping and handling will probably cost you more than the part. Mine cost $24 total. Hope this helps. I'll try to add this site to the links page as well.
