My dash was all gone when I got the truck so as a temp fix this is what I came up with but so far everyone that has seen it said keep it. I thank it looks good for now but when I have the money I would like to get a new dash. I would like your opinion on the dash, if I get enough people that like it, I'll save the money and get other things I need.

Looks like a gray version of my dash! I don't like mine, and am hoping to get a new dash in the future. But then again, yours looks cleaner than mine. I don't think yours looks bad, but I like the look of the dash better.

your dash kinda gave me an idea i was thinking you could
take tinfoil all around the whole dash and make a fiberglass dash then paint it to match your luv just a thought

I think that looks nice. If I didnt already invest in a dash cap, I would be seriuosly considering doing mine like yours.

The two-tone look is pretty good. What kind of material did you use for the grey?

Its a speckle-tone (black, grey) I picked it up at wall-mart. It comes in a spray can

so you just pulled your old dash pad off, scuffed up the structure underneath and sprayed on the speckle? I assume you could easily make a carpet top or buy a dash topper... thanks for the info.. looks like a nice inexpensive alternative.,.............

Not a problem the hole thing was only about $13 ($7.00 carpet $5 paint and $1 at auto yard for the black door trim) that holds down the carpet in the front and then sprayed with glue in the back ,works well.

That looks a lot better than I imagined it could. The only real issue I'd have with it is the space around the steering trim and the hinges for the glove box sticking out. I may have to experiment on one of parts trucks and see what I can do with that idea. I have one with larges chunks of the dash gone so its already well on its way. Heck, just the extra inch or so of space on the passenger side is a nice plus. :P

My first thoughts were to add some wood over those areas to sort of build up a little around the guages and glovebox. I'll have to look at the hinges though and see what it would take to cover them as they look like they stick out a fair bit. I was always thinking of adding some diamondplate trimwork in my 79, so maybe that covering wood filler would do the trick.

My dash was all messed up, and seeing what yours looked like allowed me to rip mine out without worrying too much about how bad it would look without one. I think it looks a lot better than the pieces of crap that used to be my dash.

I'm thinkin' maybe some spray on bed liner wouldn't look too bad, then I can ditch the rest of the carpet and do it to the whole cab. Makes cleanup after off-roading a snap.

You might concider using Herculiner. TufLuv has that stuff all thru his 4x4 and it looks pretty good. It looks about the same as the spray liner stuff but it's brushed on. Plus it's gotta be cheaper than getting it sprayed.
