I used a Painless fuse block and rewired my whole truck. Take the original harness out of the truck and lay it out on the floor. You can get a good idea of where everything goes from there. Its a bit intimidating at first but just take your time. If you get lost or start losing your patients just step away for a few minutes. I spent two weeks worth of nights doing mine.

I installed a Painless wire kit on my truck. It is really very easy to do. The wires are all marked, and grouped with zip ties and you run them to the proper location. It does look complected, and hard to do. But you just hook up one wire at a time, and triple check your work before cutting any wire. It really is very easy. If I can do it, you can. And Big Happy is right, stop if it starts to frustrate you. Come back to it latter. Let me know if I can help.

Most of it does seem easy. Theres just a few things that are throwing me off.
One is the rear lights. There is 5 wires on the original kit for the truck but the painless kit has 2 :? . Another is the heater and that whole mess of wires in the inside. If anyone knows how to hook the rear lights upp please let me know. thanks.

Luvnprogress if you have the same Painless harnass I have you should have these wires zipped tied together going to the tail lights. Grn-Right turn, Ylw-left turn, Brw-tail lights, Orn-third brake light, Wht-License plate light. My harness did not have backup lights. But if you just have 2 wires to each tail light, hook up the turn signal wire to the brighter elememt in the bulb, and the tail light wire to the dimmer elememt. You then can run a wire out of you tail light wire to the licenes plate, and the side marker lights on the bed. Then put a ground wire on the lights and everything should work. Let me get back to you on the heater.
