I am done with the frame welding, painting and anything to do with the frame. I hope to get my trans back tomorrow, if so I will be installing that and the cab tomorrow afternoon. I decided to run the stock LUV alt as it works and it is a direct plug in.

I am finished with the cab and engine area. I also have the brakes in working order. The bed I will start on this weekend. I hope to be driving it this time next week. Like I said, this turned out to be a bigger project then I started to do. I have decided on a color. Chrome yellow with SS stripes. The stripes will be 04 Harley white with the purple pearl. I would like to drive it a month or so before it goes to paint. When done I am thinking of doing the same to a Vega for my wife.

Well I finally got the bed on today. It is just sitting there and I hope that tomorrow I can weld the brackets to bolt it down. If I can there is no reason I can't get it to the muffler shop Wednesday and be on the street then. It's getting close. It will kinda suck when it goes into the paint shop. I have alot of time in it and want to enjoy it.

The bed is alittle twisted, but I will take care of that when I fab up the mounts.

Small problem. I took it out on it's maiden run today, and well the rear is alittle light. At first I thought my trans was slipping, but a check in the rear mirror proved different. That's OK, I will just stock up on tires.

If those are sportsmans you may never get em to hook, those things are hard as a normal street tire, but try a big smokey burnout to be sure lol

LOL! I wish I could see the heating process. :)

BTW, you might also want to mess with the air pressure.

sportsmans and sportsman pros dont hook and doing a burnout makes them worse. best treaded tire in that size is the MT ET streets..... or just cut a couple grooves in a ET Drag and buzz the "not for highway use" off with a whizzer wheel.

Being a sprint car racer, I perfer to stay with Hoosier's. Hell, for that matter I have a shit load of rc-1's. I know they will hook.
