i am stretching vinyl across ths door panels for know and i originally planned on just using staples...but the backing to the carpet at the bottom will not be penatrated..whatever it is it is tough...so what i need is a good adhesive that will bond well with the vinyl and the back of whatever that shit is...and if i works well may just use it all the way around the panel...

so if you have nay ideas or help at all i would appreciate it

thanks

3M makes a glue specificaly for interior stuff. It comes in a big spray can and is alot like contact glue. You spray it on both pieces, wait a specified time and stick them together. Ive seen it at Advanced Auto Parts around here. Or you may find it at an auto body supply store.

Yep thats the stuff, I used it on my LUV for the carpet and headliner, still holding great. The only place I have found it is at an autobody supply store.

Thanks for pointing that out 800xl. My Luv is a Mikado but somebody mustve redone the door panels. They were just a piece of heavy cardboard with thin foam and black vynil.

Well I used this same stuff to put in my headliner. Worked great til the temp outside reached 80+, then my headliner began to sag.It has worked on my door panels though. Just thought I would mention that.

Cool, ya I think it just gets to hot on the top, and the glue gets soft. I am eventually gonna have to come up with something new. Liquid nails???

I have a staple gun. Or you could put that herculiner or rhino liner kinda junk on in several coats and make it really thick. cut down on some noise too.

Ok, maybe not the bedliner stuff. How about some 2-3" orange shag carpet? Soft, cuts down on noise, and is really groovy...

Sorry about the thread hijack Ezekiel. looks good btw.

Seriously, I looked at a Luv on a lot @2 years ago. It had like 1" to 1 1/2 home carpet on the dash! I was thinking "No f***ing way!"

It looked horrible. It was kinda multi colored, the carpet in the room I'm in is similar. It has a couple shades of brown and some tan. The stuff on the dash was kind of a weird orangish, tan and black. It was absolutely awful.
