well i, as almost every other luv owner(i like saying that :D )
am facing the problem of the wharped dash. I see the caps on ebay going for roughly $60+ shipping. But my question with those is how does it fir on, like with my dash it is not only cracked but wharped and the edges of the crack are turning upwards, and i was fiddling with it today and it doesn't just lay flat :x ......

and another option i have seen is to just kinda cover it up with a dash mat...i dont' see many of those around, i haven't really checked around a whole lot however.

what do you guys opt for, how are you going about fixing this problem? And what is my best bet?

thanks
anthony

I bought a dash mat from advance auto for about $20+, they ship it there and you can just pick it up, it just velcro's to your cracked up dash, looks pretty cool too, got one when I first got the truck.

If you get a cap youll have to trim down the high spots of you dash pad so the cap will lay flt. I had the opposite problem, mine was breaking apart. I made a patch for the front edge out of florists foam from Walmart. Its easy to form with a knife and sand paper. Kinda messy though.

Mine was what he was discribing, all cracked up over the gauges, BAD, like somone spilt gas on it and was smokin', then to top it off it had this gay little wrinkled up 1'x1' peice of blue vynl that was trying to cover it up, you can hardly tell at first glance it's a cover... gotta love that soft carpet. But with my new job i get drain oil dirt n' crap on my hands and if I toch the dash it stains it... so i'd keep my hands to myself if you ever got one.

The dash or I should say what is left of the one in my truck is totally wasted. I dont know how to go about fixing and I have never seen or looked for a dash cap. Mine came with a dash mat allready on the dash. one day right after I got the truck I was going around the truck taking crap off that I didnt think it needed I pulled the dash mat off and to my surprise most of dash was missing. Since the only thing my truck has that came from the factory is the body and frame I figured I would just rip it out and build an aluminum dash.
