Ok let me start with somthing from scca reguarding muti-point seatbelt restraints.

"In cases where the driver is in a semi-reclining position, the shoulder harness shall be attached so that the angle between a line drawn through the driver’s spine and the shoulder harness is 45 degrees or greater."

During a frontal crash, with anything less than 45 degress, the spine could be compacted causing severe injury. Anything more than 80 degrees would not provide sufficient holding force, and would fail under both frontal crash and rollover conditions...

Ok here's my situation... I have a pair of dot approved 4 point harnesses that I will be using in my LUV on pair of seats from a 92 honda prelude(go ahead and laugh... Yeah it may be rice, but they are comfortable and they were free)... With the seat mounted to the floor with the Honda factory sliders, and with a semi-reclined seatback, the top area of the seatback makes contact with the factory rubber seat stops mounted to the back cab wall....

Is there any possible way that i could bolt the shoulder harness at the rear most point of the cab to the floor (Is allowed if a steel plate of a minimum square inches is welded to the underside and an eye-bolt is used to secure the harness, to distribute the weight evenly) that would allow me this minimum 45 degree angle??

I will be using my truck for street, as well as mudding and a little bit of moderate off-roading. But under ANY circumstances I want to do it right.... I want to go to Heaven.. just not TOO soon....

I was thinking about getting a jeg's roll cage in the near future... Has anyone used/been satisfied with this roll cage?? And also would it provide for the 45 to 80 degree shoulder strap necessity??

(I'm sorry if its a bit odd, but as a few people already know, my truck is about 500 miles north of me and I wont be near it for another 2 weeks, trying to gather as many parts as I can before I go...)
