My luv was parked for a while and the battery was dead so I had it charged. The next day I drove it home and 2 days later went to wash it and it was dead. So I jumped it again. I let it run for 30 mins and then shut it off. I just went out and it's dead again. Any clues?

I don't have a radio or anything else hooked up to the battery. I had it charged overnight and it still doesn't hold the charge. I did notice the little C light stays on and always has. The battery appears to be new also. I plan on buying an Optima battery and new cables anyways but this problem bothers me.

I don't know how long it's been in there. It looks new. I plan on buying the Optima this weekend though. I'm in no real hurry though as the truck's not really driveable till the rear axle & brakes get fixed.

So in your opinion are those batteries are better than Optima?

If the C light is staying on, you have a charging problem. It can be the alt or the regulator or both. Check the wires on the alt and make sure they are all on there, but odds are something is going to need to be replaced. A lot of parts shops can test the alt off the and see if it is charging. The reg is a little harder, but check your local shops out and see what they can do. A new battery might help the problem for a week or so, but with no charge the truck is just going to suck the new bat down too.

Well auto-zone has a nice 4 year warranty that came with their batt.s last summer, i don't know if they still have that deal...

I mainly got it cause i had to get a batt. soon anyways and the batt. i wanted had about 750 CCA and 970 WCA so I thought it was a good deal at the time... and just in time for those cold winters ya know?

I really don't know anything about optima batteries either...

Okay I bought a new voltage regulator, battery cables, a new Duralast Gold battery and it doesnt even crank. I turn the key and the charging light isn't even coming on. Everything is new and I'm pretty sure it's all hooked up correctly also. Any ideas?

Yes everything is clean. i just don't understand why it won't start. I thought perhaps the battery might be dead, but it's brand new.

There's no current anywhere as far as I can tell.

If you are getting no power at all, you have a cable or connector not passing it along somewhere. Don't take this the wrong way, but do a brain check and look at both ends of both cables and make sure they are hooked up. You also need to tie in the main power connector to the wiring harness off the positive cable. You should have the fat wire going right to the starter and a smaller wire coming off to the wiring harness on the fender.

If you can get a volt meter or test light you could check the battery to be sure it ins't bad. It should at least click even if it is down to as low as 6 volts. If it isn't and the new battery works (try it in another rig?) then it is a connection issue somewhere.

I believe this is the problem. I will post a photo of how it looks. The positive has a thin small wire hanging off of it.

There's the yellow little wire that comes off of the positive cable.

I think the part that was circled in pink was connected to the posotve someway but I don't remember.
