I noticed a few posts about frame and sus. mods and got me thinkin last night. If I find the luv that Im looking for, Im going to lop off the frame at the firewall and graft in an s-10 frame section. Then Id have all the modern lowering options. I have old hot rod friends that have done similar things with old rods and a couple of off road fellas that are pretty creative(actualy crude and butchers would better descibe them, hard core 4x4 guys seem to have their own crazy world)so if I ever get that luv Ill let youll know what happens when the flames cool.

Not a good move in my opinion. S-10 is tighter with a V8 than a Luv. If you are going to go to that much trouble Mustang ll fits great and you can buy anything you want for them and the manual rack and pinion works great even with the big block in mine. Subframe clipping was popular and does work but most street rods are going with the Mustang ll now and after I put mine in I can see why. It is a neat little package.

I did that graft on a 4WD S-10 making it a 2WD but I think the frame rails are closer together on an S-10 than a Luv. I'd go with the Mustang II like RATNLUV suggested.
