I have a question, has any one ever put Trooper bucket seats in a LUV before? just interested to see if they would be a direct bolt in on a LUV with factory buckets, thanks :D

I am about to put in some leather 02' camaro ss seats in my luv....It isn't that hard to put whatever you want in there....as long as the seats are narrow enough so you are sitting behind the wheel and not off to the side...

i got some pontiac seats for my luv, they were in pretty good condition so i just took them, and it looks like they shouldnt be too hard to put in... kinda wierd though, cause the passenger seat is higher than the drivers? wierd... ill try and get some pics up.

I had 1988 Cougar buckets in mine, and one sat higher than the other...i finally threw them and grabbed a set out of an 89 Olds cutlass Sierra. These fit like a glove, and i've even had peeps think they are stock cause they match all the other blue goodies on my truck, also VERY comfy. :D

The seats in my 86 trooper are very similar in how they are constructed to the factory LUV buckets I have. The main difference being that they fold forward and recline. They do sit on tall metal brackets tho, as you sit a fair bit higher in a trooper than in a luv, but those come off. If you already have luv buckets that are in poor shape, I'd bet the trooper seats would bolt to the brackets from them. There is only two screws per rail holding them on, so even if they don't line exactly right up it would only take four holes in the bottom of each seat at maximum.

i finally got ONE of the seats in today, after about five hours of hammering, drilling, bending and swearing. so, for anyone who is interested, yes, -Pontiac Sunfire- seats DO fit in a Luv. it isnt a direct fit however. i had to drill 4 holes in the bed for the mounts, and then fabricate two 1'' by 18'' adapter plates. in order for the front seat to sit properly, the seat carriage must be mounted BACKWARDS. if you want these seats in, dont plan on fitting anyone in over 6 feet tall. they dont allow you much clearence. so im not sure how much work any of the other seats would require to put in, but to put in both buckets count on an entire days worth of work, and your going to need some scrap steel and some bolts to get them in, also alot of washers or spacers. they sit at a close height to stock though, and are pretty comfortable. its probably less work if you didnt have a bench seat like me.

heres a pic of the bottom of the seat, you can see one of the brackets we fabricated.

I took a look at the buckets in my '88 Trooper and the mounting brackets are almost identical to those in my Luv. apart for them being mounted on the steel pedestals, which you can take them off of, i'd say that they would most likely go into a luv w/ factory buckets no problem. nice feture to the one's in my '88 are that not only do they recline and tilt forward, but they also have map pockets on the backs, and the drive's seat also has a height adjustment lever on it too. so for the short guys you can just crank it up a little, and for those of us who are a bit taller can just crank it all the way down. they also have adjustable headrests too which is cool. well if i ever get my truck running again, i'll be heading to my local salvage yard for a set of '87-'91 Trooper buckets
