I just finished knocking off the snaps and welding the holes shut from the bed where someone had one of those soft ones on there. I want a hard cover and may just do as one of you suggested and buy one thats close and modify it.

That "Pimp my Ride" show did just that. They cut a hard tonneau right down the center to get it to fit. Im not sure how well it will hold up after time but it did look correct.

I saw that episode and that is doable. Ive worked with glass enough to feel confident in doing that. At the moment though I cant drop $200-$300 to buy a glass one. Ive got a source for sheet metal/aluminum and may try doing something that way. I can get a 4x8 sheet of aluminum sheet for under $30.

Just a sheet wont do it. It will need to be reinforced with aluminum bracing (square tubing). It might be more hassle than it's worth. You could end up spending more on it than a fiberglass one. Plus oxidation will erode the aluminum if it isn't treated (chemical etching). And if you attach the aluminum to steel, that will eventually corrode the aluminum. All of this can be delt with but it seems to be far more hassle. Fiberglass is the smoothest way to go for a hard tonnaeu.

Guess I shouldve elaberated. Im not going to just throw a sheet of aluminum on it and call it done. I would have to disagree though as with a sheet of aluminum I can just cut it to fit without cutting it down the middle and repatching it like I would with a fiberglass one. Ive built a couple of work benches with sheet metal and tubing, and its not that tough. If I could find a glass one that was the correct width and only had to trim some off one end I would do that. But the more I think about slicing and patching one down the middle, the more I dont want to do it.
