Im looking for some kind of putty filler that i can lay into the rain channel above the doors. My channels are somewhat exsposed after getting rid of the rust. There was some kind of filler in them to keep the rain from getting into the seam. I dont think silicone would hold up. This stuff looked like bondo but not as hard. Any ideas?

3M makes a joint and seam sealer, check with companies that sell car painting supplies, they should be able to get it.

i was thinking of cutting mine off ,just cut a little at a time then weld behind your cut then grind it ,fill with bondo and paint , i think it would look cool,a cleaner look! 8) p.s. that gutter holds the roof on the truck so only go 3 or 4 inches at a time!

i was thinkin about this today,
i think it WILL look sweet, but you need to be very carefull welding it like that as not to warp the roof.
what i would do is start on say the front driver side, cut about 3" TACK WELD (w/ mig of course :D ) then move to the pass. side rear do the same. then on to the pass. side front, then the driver side rear.
keep following this pattern till all is removed and you have plenty of good strong tacks in place,
the follow the same pattern w/ about 2" stitch welds till you have a solid seam.

my .02 :D

hell i may try it some day too
