I went and picked up a set of seats that I had left at a freinds house for a few years a while back and set them in my Luv. Damn things actualy line up fairly decent. The inner bolts need some brackets, but the seats I was going to use needed alot of fabbing. Now for the problem. I had them re-covered in the 80s when neon and crazy colors were hot. They are two shades of purple with hot pink piping. My wife saw the things and wants me to paint the truck purple now. I like purple, but had my mind set on blue. Now Im kinda in the middle of purple or blue. What da you all think?

I had my chevelle painted purple, I guess it was more like a plum, and like you it was my wifes idea, but when it was done it looked sharp. I personnally am thinking of going blue with my luv. So I guess I would say " go with what momma likes because if you tell her that you painted it for her, then maybe she wont bitch when you spend time on it! MY .02 :D

Do a fade from blue and gradually fade into purple about the rear wheels.

I wouldn't plan on a pink pinstripe just yet though.

i like diarmadhim's idea about the fade, however personaly a dark blue with pink n purple seats would look quite good,

i say no to both and go with green

I was thinkin on the toilet(where I do my best thinkin) and thought maybe a two tone split on the body line. Purple top/blue bottom or maybe the same general idea, but flaming the edge. Or maybe just a blue base with purple flames or tares on the fenders and doors.

I've got the bed on my truck painted with tractor implament paint leftover from when i rebuilt a ford 8N tractor... its kinda a dark tan/grey. they call it ford grey. i think it looks pretty good. I'd like to paint the entire truck that color but i need a long '79 bed first. this one is trashed on the right rear. (somebody's failed bondo experiment) but what do you expect for $200.

Purple is for girls.....blue is for guys. so just decide WHO is going to drive that truck the most. Or........be like me, my wife was thinking of having me paint up this latest 80 4x4 luv PINK for her. I instead went w Grabber Green!! :D So what it looks like it should be a parts runner for John Deere. Its different and VERY striking (borderline eye-busting) but thats why im me. 8)

Sketched out some ideas and decided to do the two-tone. Purple top broke at the body line. Will seperate the line with a row of skulls and bones. With three kids, mortgage,........... Itll be painted by 2010. Actualy will be primered through the summer and painted in the winter. At least thats my plan.
